Heal’s London launches “Design Ireland” initiative March 2016

We’ve been so busy lately over here at Scribble & Stone headquarters that we’ve completely forgotten to keep you up to date on all of the cool stuff that’s happened over the past year.

So here’s the roundup!

Back in March we were delighted to showcase Scribble And Stone at the iconic London store Heals, for their three week long showcase aptly titled Design Ireland at Heals.

The luxury British retailer got together with the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland last March to showcase the largest retail presentation of Irish-made design in London in decades. The in-store showcase was a great opportunity for Irish designers to demonstrate their work by presenting a fascinating capsule of furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass and gifts.

Our creative director Jenny Kiernan said of the event, " I absolutely loved the store and felt so privileged to be showcasing our stuff alongside so many amazing brands. If you haven’t been before, I highly recommend you to do so, so many incredible homeware products...my one true weakness!"

Jenny was lucky enough to spend a couple of days in store at Heals as part of their meet the maker event series, where she got to talk about the brand, creative process and how we develop the pieces from sketch to shop shelf.

"It was such an honour to have my jewellery featured alongside so many wonderful brands in such an iconic setting on The Tottenham Court Road, especially since we were one of only two jewellery brands to be selected for the gifts section.

"One of the highlights of the showcase was getting to chat with the customers at Heals, and of course the lovely staff, who couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating."

Below is a pic of of our in store demo, where Jenny got the chance to speak with the customers about our design process here at Scribble And Stone, and got to show them a small selection of the materials we use and also how we develop ideas from initial research to producing elements and sourcing materials to use in the range.

As well as that, there were some really insightful chats with customers regarding processes, materials and independent design.

Heres some of the amazing designers whose work was on show:

"Overall, I had such an amazing time hanging out in Heals and want to give a big shout out to their amazing staff, customers and products. Although with all of that temptation around, I was definitely dreading checking my credit card bill for a week afterwards!"
