This year we unveiled some new pieces at Showcase Irelands Creative Expo in the RDS Dublin. We were delighted to be awarded a "Best Product" Award in the Jewellery category for our Perspex Cube Necklace.
All in all it was a great show and we picked up some new exciting stockists as well as catching up with many of our existing retailers. We were also delighted to have lots of our jewellery products used in the show imagery dotted around the venue such as the image below. A huge thanks to The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland for including us in the show photography and for all their invaluable support!
We were delighted to spy a lovely write-up in The Gloss this weekend. As huge fans of this publication we are very grateful to be featured and absolutely loving the beautiful imagery created by Design Ireland for the feature.
Super interview in this month's Totally Dublin (October 2017) with Jenny. Great support of Irish design and our jewellery.
GARB: JENNIFER KIERNAN by Sinead O'Reilly "I started in textiles, but slowly realised that my home was in accessories."
It’s was more a case of organic growth, free from the bullshit of the boom, which led to Jennifer Kiernan, from Scribble and Stone, entering into the world of self-employment. “It was a tough time,” explains the designer. “I had gone back to university in Edinburgh to study fashion and came out just as the recession kicked off.” Not totally ideal but, with a background like Jennifer’s, not totally disastrous.
“After leaving school I studied Commerce in UCD and then went on to work in business. It wasn’t until a few years in that I got the itch to move on to something new.” Recalling the transition she says, “I started in textiles, but slowly realised that my home was in accessories. It’s what I really excelled at and enjoyed.”
This enjoyment was cultivated and built upon as Jennifer went to work for various designers and even dipped her toe into graphics following her graduation from Edinburgh. “Then the recession hit,” she says plainly, “so I organically became self-employed.”
Organics fuelled by optimism and a variety of optics, Jennifer started selling her craft from a stall in Cows Lane Market. Full interview here

That’s why with Valentine’s day only around the corner, we have come up with our top 5 items you can get from Scribble And Stone this Valentines that will ensure you won’t be that last minute shopper grabbing some petrol station flowers on February 14th.
1. Rose Gold Glitter Cuff
With the rose being the ultimate symbol of love and adulation on Valentine’s day, why not substitute the cliched gift of a single red rose this Valentine’s day for our beautiful Glitter Cuff with subtle elements of Rose Gold. Believe us, this is a much more appealing option and priced at only €55.00 this Rose plated metal / leather cuff is the perfect gift for Valentine’s day.
Or you may prefer our infinity Rings pendant. Inspired by Geometric & Architectural forms. This piece can be Worn singularly or stacked for dramatic effect. The Infinity Rings pendant features delicate 3mm rings in luxurious 14kt Gold-Fill on a sterling silver ball chain. The chain is a 1.2mm ball chain 18" in length and the silver has been oxidised to give it a blackened look. The gift of a ring has always been one of the most classic symbols of love on Valentine’s day and what better way to express your everlasting bond with someone than to present them with this beautiful infinity rings pendant.
There is nothing more romantic than a bracelet for Valentine’s day, and from our new precious metal range we have this gorgeous delicate yet durable bracelet is the ideal gift for a partner or friend this valentine’s day. In classical mythology, Cupid is the god of desire, attraction and affection. He is never pictured without his bow and arrow; which represent his source of power. As these classic tales go, any person who has been struck by Cupid’s arrow is filled with uncontrollable desire.
These Arrow Studs are the perfect elegant one of a kind addition to any Valentine’s gift. These Plated Metals / Sterling silver ear posts are made to catch the eye and capture the heart. The perfect Valentine’s choice!
A ring can be an extremely special and intimate gift for someone special at Valentine’s. The tradition of giving a ring as a gift came from Ancient Egypt and Rome, and will appeal to any receiver for Valentine’s as this type of gift perfectly demonstrates the seriousness and depth of the giver’s feelings. The ring is the perfect symbol of love and infinity and this Sterling Silver With 18kt Gold Plated ring is a definite showstopper that will guarantee smiles all round this February 14th
With so many exciting projects on the go during the run up to Christmas, we were so flat out between selling our wares at various craft shows and getting all of our presents ready to be shipped out to all of the good girls and boys that unfortunately it meant having to neglect our poor aul blog, but fear not! The blog is back and better than ever for 2017, and what better way to kick off the new year then with a press roundup of nearly everything that’s been going on (press wise) over the last year. (We may have lost some of our clippings ;)

Scribble And Stone Fashion Shoot
This year also saw us heading down to South Studio's in Dublin's city centre to conduct our Scribble And Stone 2016 fashion shoot.
It was such a fab, exhausting and amazing day and everyone who was there on the day really came together and played their part to create some wonderful photo's.

Scribble And Stone Concession at Heal's
This year also saw the launch of our firstconcession in a major department store. Was Really excited and grateful to be involved with this beautiful store that has such a strong heritage and tradition of working with and supporting emerging designers.
Also a massive thanks to Natasha Sherling for mentioning us as one to look out for at The National Craft and Design Fair in the The Gloss Magazine.
"Scribble and Stone is the most fashion-forward of the bunch. Using unusual materials like leather, perspex and cotton, their collections are minimal but bold; we think their delicate stacking bracelets and bold tassle earrings are going to be a real winner at the fair."
Check out the write up and tips as well as reviews on some other great designers!
This year also provided a very fleeting glimpse of some of our jewels on sale at the wonderful So Collective in Kildare Village. As usual, such a great atmosphere down there and so many great designers involved!
I really enjoyed talking about work, inspiration and all things jewellery on @rtelifestyle today. Interview with thanks to @tara_the_find_farrell, and portrait and product shots thanks to the wonderful photographers @johnnylalor and @brendanryanphoto
The Irish Examiner

Earlier this year we were delighted to welcome TV3's Lisa Canon down to the studio here at Parker Hill for a feature called "Design Insider" which acted as a showcase for different emerging brands around the country. So great to see a National broadcasted show such support for some of the amazingly talented designers out there!
You can check out the link here and also get to see the studio looking cleaner than it's ever been! ;)
2016 was a great year and was fantastic to be able to meet so many Scribble And Stone customers both old and new at the various craft shows throughout the year. Its always makes my so happy to see how a piece of mine has brought any little bit of joy into someone' life.
Looking forward to moving into 2017 with the same work ethic and positivity and we will of course keep you all up to date with all of our goings on via our blog! x

Just a quick update to let you all know how we’ve been getting on with our Scribble And Stone concession stand over in Heal’s London over the last few weeks.
We set up the stand last November 7th and it will be available to visit until Christmas Eve.
Our stand at Heals on the Tottenham Court Road is our first standalone concession in a major department store, and it couldn’t be in a more perfect setting as their flagstone store, which has basically transformed it's front showroom into a dazzling seasonal Christmas market.
After having such an amazing time at the Heals Modern Craft market last March, we were delighted to be invited back to the London store to participate at the event alongside other stellar names in contemporary design such as Orla Kiely and Donna Wilson.
It’s absolutely fantastic to be associated with such a prominent and high end retailer such as Heals, and it’s really endearing to see how steadfast they have been when it comes to promoting and supporting breakthrough designers. This supportive ethos is really reflected in every aspect of dealing with Heals, and you can even see it on their website.
“[Heals] has a long history of collaborating with emerging and prominent designers. Heal’s is as passionate today as we have always been about introducing new ranges, discovering stars of the future and pushing the boundaries of outstanding contemporary design.
It was such a fun experience heading over to London for the initial setup. As always, the staff were so accommodating and the majorly festive and elaborate backdrop of Heals seems like the perfect location for our new product range.
So if you get the chance make sure you pop into Heals on the Tottenham Court Road before December 24th to bag some exclusive pieces for Christmas which aren’t available anywhere else. :)
We had our cameras were at the ready last November as we headed down to South Studios near Dublin city centre as we got our Scribble And Stone fashion shoot under way.
We had some amazingly talented people on set with us on the day, and everyone really came together in combining their uniquely creative skills to create a fantastic showcase of some of the latest products Scribble And Stone has to offer.
Our exceptionally elegant model Angelika Tomasiak served as the perfect muse to display our latest range in the mid 19th century Dublin studios.
Angelika was impeccably styled by the ever talented stylist Carolyn Moore, who really encapsulated the 1970's era feel we wanted to go for by draping Angelika in perfectly suited and uber stylish retro garments.
We also had the skilled Lisa Smyth on hand for hair and makeup, who maintained an ever steady hand during the cold November studio conditions, ;)
It was so rewarding to see how everything came together so well on the day, and really exciting to see how the entire process unfolded from the initial conception to the finished product.
We felt like we were in safe hands with photographer John Lalor at the creative and production helm, who alongside his assistant Simon Walsh ensured that the utmost care was taken throughout the entire shoot, with every light and shadow being meticulously calculated, and every perfect angle being captured.
John also provided a sleek and stylish dark blue 1976 convertible for the shoot, which really added authenticity to the overall vintage feel on the day.
Really excited to announce that the shoot will be published in The Irish Times magazine on December 10th, and of course all of the pieces modelled by Angelika are available to buy through our website. :)
