2016 Press Roundup

Posted on January 12, 2017

With so many exciting projects on the go during the run up to Christmas, we were so flat out between selling our wares at various craft shows and getting all of our presents ready to be shipped out to all of the good girls and boys that unfortunately it meant having to neglect our poor aul blog, but fear not! The blog is back and better than ever for 2017, and what better way to kick off the new year then with a press roundup of nearly everything that’s been going on (press wise) over the last year. (We may have lost some of our clippings ;)

Also a massive thanks to  Natasha Sherling for mentioning us as one to look out for at The National Craft and Design Fair in the The Gloss Magazine

"Scribble and Stone is the most fashion-forward of the bunch. Using unusual materials like leather, perspex and cotton, their collections are minimal but bold; we think their delicate stacking bracelets and bold tassle earrings are going to be a real winner at the fair."

Check out the write up and tips as well as reviews on some other great designers!

So Collective At Kildare Village

Earlier this year we were delighted to welcome TV3's Lisa Canon down to the studio here at Parker Hill for a feature called "Design Insider" which acted as a showcase for different emerging brands around the country. Our Concession Stand in Heals...

Posted on December 09, 2016

Just a quick update to let you all know how we’ve been getting on with our Scribble And Stone concession stand over in Heal’s London over the last few weeks.

We set up the stand last November 7th and it will be available to visit until Christmas Eve.

Our stand at Heals on the Tottenham Court Road is our first standalone concession in a major department store, and it couldn’t be in a more perfect setting as their flagstone store, which has basically transformed it's front showroom into a dazzling seasonal Christmas market.

After having such an amazing time at the Heals Modern Craft market last March, we were delighted to be invited back to the London store to participate at the event alongside other stellar names in contemporary design such as Orla Kiely and Donna Wilson.

It’s absolutely fantastic to be associated with such a prominent and high end retailer such as Heals, and it’s really endearing to see how steadfast they have been when it comes to promoting and supporting breakthrough designers. This supportive ethos is really reflected in every aspect of dealing with Heals, and you can even see it on their website.

“[Heals] has a long history of collaborating with emerging and prominent designers. Heal’s is as passionate today as we have always been about introducing new ranges, discovering stars of the future and pushing the boundaries of outstanding contemporary design.

It was such a fun experience heading over to London for the initial setup. As always, the staff were so accommodating and the majorly festive and elaborate backdrop of Heals seems like the perfect location for our new product range.

So if you get the chance make sure you pop into Heals on the Tottenham Court Road before December 24th to bag some exclusive pieces for Christmas which aren’t available anywhere else. :)

Scribble And Stone November Fashion Shoot Assets South Studios Dublin 2016

We had our cameras were at the ready last November as we headed down to South Studios near Dublin city centre as we got our Scribble And Stone fashion shoot under way.

We had some amazingly talented people on set with us on the day, and everyone really came together in combining their uniquely creative skills to create a fantastic showcase of some of the latest products Scribble And Stone has to offer.

Our exceptionally elegant model Angelika Tomasiak served as the perfect muse to display our latest range in the mid 19th century Dublin studios.

Angelika was impeccably styled by the ever talented stylist Carolyn Moore, who really encapsulated the 1970's era feel we wanted to go for by draping Angelika in perfectly suited and uber stylish retro garments.

We also had the skilled Lisa Smyth on hand for hair and makeup, who maintained an ever steady hand during the cold November studio conditions, ;)

It was so rewarding to see how everything came together so well on the day, and really exciting to see how the entire process unfolded from the initial conception to the finished product.

We felt like we were in safe hands with photographer John Lalor at the creative and production helm, who alongside his assistant Simon Walsh ensured that the utmost care was taken throughout the entire shoot, with every light and shadow being meticulously calculated, and every perfect angle being captured.

John also provided a sleek and stylish dark blue 1976 convertible for the shoot, which really added authenticity to the overall vintage feel on the day.

Really excited to announce that the shoot will be published in The Irish Times magazine on December 10th, and of course all of the pieces modelled by Angelika are available to buy through our website. :)

Scribble And Stone At The RDS National Craft And Design Fair 2016

Posted on December 06, 2016

Just finished up from another bustling week down at the National Craft And Design Fair down at the RDS, and as usual had and absolutely brilliant time holding the fort down on the shop floor!

After a well deserved duvet day yesterday, i'm  still buzzing from the amazingly positive response Scribble And Stone received from customers (old and new) throughout the week. It was a genuine pleasure to be able to talk shoppers through some of our pieces and give them a bit of background into The Scribble And Stone brand and how everything got started.

The fair ran from 30th Nov - 4th Dec, and showcased some of Ireland's finest craft and design creations with over 500 designers, artists and craftspeople selling their wares at the fare. As well as providing people with an opportunity to bag all of their Christmas shopping in one afternoon,  the Craft Fair provided me with the perfect opportunity to do what I love best, create and sell jewellery to customers directly.

I'm always so humbled when I get chatting to one of our fabulous customers and they tell me about what my jewellery has meant to them or someone special they've bought for.

It's always so inspiring and such a great motivation to get creating!

We were also pleasantly surprised when UTV cornered us for a quick interview!

Really looking forward to next years fair but for now it's back to the studio. :)

Xposé To Champion Irish Design and Innovation with New Segment: Design Insider - Scribble & Stone

Posted on October 18, 2016

We had a very exciting guest pop in last June in the form of Lisa Cannon and the TV3 Xpose crew, who paid us a visit in the studio for a little chat about the Scribble & Stone range.

The piece went out on TV3 last June, and gave a no holes barred exclusive sneak peek around the studio, to see where all the jewellery making magic happens. ;)

The visit was part of Expose’s Design Insider, a segment airing on TV3 every Monday, which ventures inside the studio’s of some of Ireland’s most renowned fashion designers, jewellery smiths and design innovators.

I was very honoured that Xpose chose to ‘xpose’ my humble abode to their loyal fanbase, and it was fantastic to see how much of an interest and a platform the station were providing to homegrown designers and emerging Irish artists.

And to top it all off, I was absolutely thrilled to be featured along with a stellar list of Irish designers such as Ireland's Eye, John Hanly & co, Jennifer Rothwell, Natalie b. Coleman,  Juvi, Martha Lynn.

Scribble & Stone at the official Só Collective Launch

Posted on October 17, 2016

Last April was a particularly exciting month here at Scribble & Stone, as we packed up and headed off to Kildare Village for the official launch of Só Collective.

Só Collective at Kildare Village is a unique shopping experience and thoughtful curation of both established and emerging Irish designers.

It was a fantastic atmosphere which really emphasised creating an interesting and luxurious space to act as a platform for so many great creative Irish talents!

As if Heals didn’t do enough damage to my credit card with all of their wonderful merchandise, Só Collective featured some terrific Irish designers, and was complimented by some ridiculously delicious and visually delightful food served up by @Naomi’s Kitchen.

Below is a pic of our fringe statement necklace looking pretty in the window, and as always I was thrilled to be flanked by some of my favourite Irish designers.

There were lots and lots AND LOTS of gorgeous things to be had at the launch... some of my favourite’s spotted on the day were #Pauricsweeny handbags, #inner_island jewles, #SianJacobs cashmere, #DanielleRomeril clothing, #MelissaCurry jewellery…..seriously loads of fantastic designers here at great prices.

Check out the video below but blink and you'll miss us! @2:38 seconds in, a fleeting glimpse of some of the jewels we had on sale at the launch last April.
